Back To School Series: What To Keep in Your Locker/Bag

Hellooo! I'm going to be telling you guys what to keep in your locker. I know some schools don't have lockers, or maybe you just prefer to keep it all in your bag. I'm just going to jump right in since I usually make intros kinda long!
  • A small makeup bag; to keep most of your stuff in!
  • Chapstick or lip gloss; whichever you prefer, for when your lips get chapped or need a touch up.
  • Hand lotion; especially for winter, when your hands get dry and cracked.
  • Perfume; either it's after gym or you just want to smell good, you can spray this on throughout the day when you need it!
  • Feminine products; if you're a girl, (which I'm assuming you are!) you're going to want to keep a few of the products you prefer, just in case. Even if you haven't gotten your period yet! And if one of your friends don't have one in their time of need, you can totally help them out.
  • Extra pens and pencils; this is just a given!
  • Tissues; during cold season, I know not all of my teachers had tissues, so if your nose is runny, these really come in handy.
  • Hand sanitizer; to use before lunch or during cold season.
  • Deodorant; This might be gross, but honestly I get sweaty very easily! This is good for when you forget in the morning, after gym, or on those extra hot days.
  • A small snack (granola bar, cereal bar); My school is very strict about keeping food and drink in your locker, but a lot of people do it anyways. I'm not encouraging you to break the rules, but if your school allows you to have food, if you forget to eat breakfast, you can eat that!
  • Oil blotting sheets; You can use these if you happen to forget to wash your face in the morning, or your face is just extra oily that day!
  • Makeup; Just keep the essentials for touch ups!
  • Bobbypins, hairties, clips, pre-wrap; This especially helps if you're in sports, but can be handy for anyone when they're having a bad hair day.
  • Mints or gum; Admit it, we've all forgot to brush our teeth at least once. This is a major necessity - no one likes stinky breath!
  • Bottle of water; Like I said, my school is very strict about this, but they do allow you to have one bottle of water. It's important to keep hydrated!
Hopefully I got everything! If I forgot something important tell me in the comments. Thank you for reading! :)

Back To School Fashion

     Hey everyone!
This is my first post for Hayl and mine's Back to School Edition. (Read Hayl's too! Scroll down for her Back to School Lunch Ideas and Back to School Intro!) This post is my Back to School (how about we shorten 'Back to School' and just call it BTS..?) Fashion Post.
Let's face it, everyone loves shopping for new school clothes. I've put together a list of my favorite stores to shop at, what you should totally buy to rock your look this year, and more!

     Stores to Hit Up:
•Delia's - They have the best jeans for every body type.
•H&M- This store has great trendy pieces to add into your wardrobe.
•Hollister- Hollister has great Southern Cali vibe clothing to add into any closet for summer, or winter!
•Forever 21- This store has everything you need- I could literally buy everything I could ever need for clothes here.
•Victoria's Secret- Need undergarments, perfume/body mists, or yoga wear? This store is perfect!
•Urban Outfitters- If you have a low-key boho style or just want a different style in general, try this store.
•American Eagle- AE has everything you need- cute tees, denim shorts, jeans, etc.
•Cotton On- I've only seen these stores in California, but if you have a Cotton On nearby, check it out!
•Wet Seal- This store is very similar to American Eagle, so if you don't have one of the two, try the other (if that makes any sense whatsoever).
•Free People- Okay so maybe this store is very expensive, but it can't hurt a girl to look right?
•Aerie- If Victoria's Secret isn't your thing, this is a fab alternative!
•Charlotte Russe- Think of it as a downsized Forever 21.

     Essential Pieces:
•Jeans- distressed, dyed, floral, patterned, colored, regular, cropped, skinny, flare, bookcut- doesn't matter! Pick a pair that makes you feel like a rockstar!

•Cardigan- throw this over a V-neck, a tank, anything! It can instantly polish a look and make it seem like you put a lot of effort into it. (Which you really didn't!)

•A Dress that Represents Your Style- It can be strapless, a maxi, floral- anything that you like that is casual for school while still maintaining killer style!

•Boots- whether for comfort or day to day use, every style is great!

•Scarves- patterned, wrap-around, or a basic- you can use scarves for a ton of looks. Whether layered over a big, cozy sweater, or over a dress, or even a basic tee, the possibilities are endless!

•Fall Jacket- There's a style, fit, and color for everyone, and they add a touch of style to doing something as simple as going through a corn maze or jumping in a pile of leaves with friends!

Thanks for reading, I know it was a super long post! Any requests or questions for Hayl or I? Leave them in the comments! We'll be sure to answer!

Back To School Series: School Lunch Ideas

Hey there! So this is kind of my first post in this series, if you don't count the intro. I'm really excited to do this one, it seems fun to me for some reason. If you didn't read the title, I'm going to show you some school lunch ideas! These will be decently healthy choices, but come on, we're kids, we all like to eat junk food. But even though something is healthy doesn't mean it isn't just as tasty. Thankfully, as teenagers we don't have to exactly watch our calories and whatnot. I will give you a few lunch ideas, ones that you pack yourself and are easy to prepare, and even what to purchase at school. Keep reading! Sorry this is a lengthy post by the way...

Lunch #1
Contains: Peanut butter and jelly, with pretzels, and fruit.
Prepare: For the sandwich, use whole grain bread (not whole wheat - it can be just as bad as white!), all natural peanut butter, and real fruit jelly. I think we all know how to prepare this one! ;) Zip up in a plastic sandwich baggie. Throw in snack bag full of mini-twist pretzels, and an apple or banana or orange and you'll be all set. Put this all in a brown lunch bag. Either bring a water bottle or buy a milk or water at school when it's lunch time.
Pros: This lunch is healthy, easy and fast to prepare, and satisfies both your sweet tooth and salty cravings. It's a decent amount of food, and fills you up completely!
Cons: If you choose a banana, it might turn a bit brown. As for the sandwich, depending on the temperature and how much jelly was put on, it might get slightly soggy.

Lunch #2
Contains: Cooked pasta, red sauce (optional), veggies, dip, and a cookie.
Prepare: Measure a cup and a half of your favorite type of pasta (cooked, obviously), and put in a sealable tupperware container. Take a couple spoonfuls of spaghetti sauce and mix it in with the pasta (no need to warm up.) Then take some raw veggies, like carrots or celery, and pour a small amount of dressing/dip into a container. Bring along a cookie, just for some sweetness. Drink with some juice provided at school.
Pros: You can use leftover pasta from dinner, and this lunch also satisfies both salty and sweetness.
Cons: If you don't use leftovers, you'll have to prepare the pasta at night, and the veggies won't stay cold.

Lunch #3 - Buying!
Contains: Salad, dressing, bag of baked/Sun chips, fruit, and juice or milk.
Prepare: Going off of what my school provides, go to the salad bar and get some lettuce and top with optional veggies and dressing. Grab a bag of chips, preferably baked or SunChips, along with whatever fruit your school offers. Get a juice or milk to drink. - No preparation, just buy at the school!
Pros: Balanced! You could also prepare this at home if school lunch grosses you out.
Cons: Your school might not offer the same things mine does. You could always alter. :)

Lunch #4 - Time Consuming
Contains: Whole wheat tortilla, chicken or turkey (optional), assorted veggies (shredded carrots/lettuce/peppers/diced tomatoes, etc.), shredded cheese, spreadable cream cheese or mustard (to hold together), crackers with peanut butter, apple sauce or a fruit cup.
Prepare: Take one or two whole wheat/grain tortillas (depending on how hungry you think you'll be) and spread cream cheese/mustard, then add sliced deli meat if you'd like, or just pack with veggies and shredded cheese. Roll up, and use a dab of cream cheese/mustard or even tape if worse comes to worse, to keep together. Take four-six whole grain crackers and spread with peanut butter and make little sandwiches. Add packaged apple sauce or a fruit cup. Drink with water, milk or juice.
Pros: Tasty, has everything you need and the crackers are healthier than the packaged ones you buy.
Cons: Longer to prepare, wraps may fall apart.

But wait - snacks! Depending on when you eat lunch, you might need a small snack throughout the day to keep you going. Here are some of my favorite snacks that you can throw in your bookbag and that are quick to eat... A banana, trail mix, granola bar, cashews, sun dried fruit, raisins, rice cakes, and pretzels!

Phew, that was longgg! I hope you got some good and tasty ideas. :) Thank you so much for reading this whole entire post. If you liked it, let me know, and tell me if you'd like me to do a breakfast one as well!
